 KIINNOSTAAKO TAIDEMATKA TURKKIIN?


IWS:n ja Izmirin kaupungin järjestämä festivaali on 7.5 -10.5. Kansainvälinen taidenäyttely ( teosehdotukset 31.1 mennessä, ei maksua), työpajoja, paneelikeskusteluja ja yhteisiä tutustumisiltoja Izmirissä.
Lisäksi on mahdollista osallistua erilaisille retkille:
Esimerkiksi matkan voi aloittaa 3.5 Istanbuliin ja Izmirin festivaalin jälkeen voi osallistua Efesoksen ja Pamukkaleen kiertueeseen.

Itinerary:
T1 – TOUR 1 WITH PLEIN AIR EVENTS; May 3 – 7 (4-night)
Day 1, May 3: Arrive in Istanbul.
Meet your guide at the Ataturk airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2, May 4: Istanbul
In the morning, our artistic journey begins by visiting the historical city center of Istanbul and Spice Bazaar. Then we will cruise along the Bosphorus capturing the scenes of palatial homes, imperial palaces and castles along this natural waterway which divides Asia from Europe. A relaxing afternoon awaits where you can further develop your artistic skills. Meal: B/L/D
Day 3, May 5: Istanbul
Bring your paints along as our first stop today is the Sultan Ahmet Square, which was once known as the Hippodrome of Constantinople. We will then visit the Blue Mosque, famous for its blue tiles and unique structure of six minarets. Next we will visit Hagia Sophia Museum which is the most important Byzantine structure. Finally the famous Topkapi Palace museum will be visited. This palace was built as the home of the Ottoman sultans. The last stop for the day will be the Grand Bazaar where your sketchbook will again be in awe of the sights and colors that can be captured as a record of your visit. Bosphorus dinner cruise with Turkish night show. Meal: B/L/D
Day 4, May 6: Istanbul-Izmir
After an early breakfast, we will begin our scenic drive to Izmir. We will cross the Sea of Marmara and be heading for Bursa, the former capital of the Ottoman Empire, where we will undertake a short sightseeing city tour, including Ulu Camii, the Big Mosque, with precious tiles and faience, and the Covered Bazaar (Silk Market) area. We will continue via Balikesir to Izmir, the third-largest city in Turkey on the western Aegean coast of Turkey. Overnight in Izmir. Meal: B/L/D
T2 – TOUR 2 WITH IWS FESTIVAL PROGRAM: May 6 – 11 (5-night)
Day 1, May 6: Arrival in Izmir and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2, May 7: Opening Ceremony of the Festival and Exhibition at 10 am, sightseeing in Izmir, and visits to historical places and museums, festival party at 6 pm at Atanur Dogan’s house in Guzelbahce. Meal: B/D
Day 3, May 8: Painting demonstrations by world-famous watercolor artists, exhibitions, panels, and workshops. Open to the public, social and networking opportunities will be available with like-minded art enthusiasts. Meal: B/D
Day 4, May 9: Open air painting workshop in Seferihisar and boat tour. Meal: B/D
Day 5, May 10: Plein-air painting workshop: Masters will participate in a joint painting of 50- meter long painting around the clock tower, the symbol of Izmir, depicting assets of Izmir as subject matter. Award ceremony for the best Izmir-themed paintings at the closing reception of the festival and farewell dinner. Meal: B/D
Day 6, May 11: Transfer to the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. Meal: B
T3 – TOUR 3: May 11 – 12 (1-night)
Day 1, May 11: Izmir – Ephesus – Pamukkale
After breakfast we drive to Selcuk for a memorable visit to Ephesus, Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the antiquity, You will have the opportunity to sketch important ruins such as the the Celsus Library and the Roman Theater.
In the afternoon we start a trip along picturesque countryside places to the Central Aegean Region to Pamukkale, a fantastic site with cotton-like terraces. Visit the ancient city Hierapolis, sketching and drawing its well-preserved necropolis, Temple of Apollo and the Greco-Roman theatre. Overnight in a thermal hotel with natural, thermal spring waters which benefit the eyes and skin. Meal: B/L/D
– You may like to consider signing up for the experience of a lifetime – an early morning Balloon Flight over the unforgettable white cliffs of Pamukkale and the ruins of Hierapolis. (Optional!)
Day 2, May 12: Transfer to the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (or Denizli Cardak Airport)
After breakfast, return to Izmir alongside famous Meander River in the Meander Valley. Dotted with cotton fields, fig trees, olive groves, and vineyards, this river flows with many curves and turns, ‘meandering’ through the fertile plains. Arrival at the airport for your return flight. Meal: B
T4 – TOUR 4: May 12 – 15 (3-night)
Day 1, May 12: Pamukkale – Konya – Cappadocia
After breakfast, drive from Pamukkale through Turkey’s lake region and stop at Egirdir lake for lunch. En route to Cappadocia through Konya, the city of Mevlana,the great mystic poet who founded the sect of “Whirling Dervishes”. In afternoon stop at the ancient Sultanhani caravanserai on the ancient “Silk Road”. End the day admiring the sunset and the amazing valley landscape from a terrace amongst the vines of Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia. Meal: B/L/D

Day 2, May 13: Cappadocia
Today we visit the Cappadocia with incredible landscapes. Time will be available to enhance your sketchbook or take photographs at the Pigeon Valley, Devrent Valley and Pasabag Valley. We will then proceed to the Goreme Valley open air museum with old houses and churches carved in rocks. Visit to the incredible Underground City of Kaymakli, an ancient hiding place. We’ll visit the towns of Urgup and the city of Nevsehir. Your sketchbook will capture the essence one of the most unique landscapes on planet Earth. Meal: B/L/D
Spend the rest of the day discovering this fantastic region by painting and photographing.
Day 3, May 14: Cappadocia
After breakfast start a plein-air painting workshop amid the magnificent landscapes of Cappadocia
In the afternoon, enjoy a shopping trip to local artisans in Avanos, a small town at the Red River, producing an abundance of beautiful pieces of ceramics and hand-woven carpets. Vine tasting in a local vinery. Meal: B/L/D
–Last night you can enjoy a Turkish folk dances and belly dancing show in a troglodyte restaurant.(Optional)
Day 4, May 15: Kayseri Airport
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Today, we’ll join local artist and participate in watercolor activities at historical and interesting places of Istanbul, which is one of the most excitingly cosmopolitan cities in the world.  In the evening we’ll join a Bosporus dinner cruise with Turkish night show in a private yacht.Meal: B/L/

Day 4, May 6: Istanbul-Izmir. After an early breakfast, we will begin our scenic drive to Izmir. Kaikki akvarellikilpailuun lähetetyt / hyväksytyt teokset tulevat jäämään kaupungille tai taidemuseoon. Siksi ei ole osallistumismaksua.

Myös matka Izmiriin 7.5-10.5. on suunnitteilla, joten voi ilmoittautua mukaan, mikäli hieno vanha kaupunki, työskentely siellä ja kansainväliset tapaamiset kiinnostavat ja vaikka ei olisikaan mukana näyttelyssä.

Osallistuminen kilpailuun:
Digikuvat teoksista toimitetaan itsenäisesti Turkkiin.
Jurytyksen jälkeen hyväksytyt originaalimaalaukset lähetetään yhteisesti Helsingistä, joten mikäli olet mukana ja haluat yhteislähetykseen tai matkalle, ota yhetyttä: iwsfinland@gmail.com, aihe: Izmir.

Teosten aihe on ‘’Izmir’’ kaupunki /oma näkemys valokuvien pohjalta.
Kaikki yli 16 v. voivat osallistua. Ei maksua.
Kuvan minimikoko 25x35 cm
On mahdollista lähettää kolme ehdotusta, joista yksi voidaan hyväksyä.
Digikuvan koko: 300 dpi, 2-5 MB ja puhdas reunoilta.
Digitaalisen kuvan lähetys 1.1.- 31.1.2020.
Kuvatiedostoon: Nimi ja sukunimi, Maa, Teoksen nimi, teoksen koko, sähköpostiosoite ja myös kuvan valokuvaajan nimi.

Tämän ensimmäisen vaiheen jälkeen, saa mahdollisuuden osallistua toiseen vaiheeseen 7.5-10.5.2020, jolloin työskennellään Izmirissä: maalataan teoksia ihmisistä, rakennuksista, Izmirin kaupungin historiasta, maaseudusta ja maisemista.
